If you suffer from claustrophobia, the thought of being enclosed in an ozone pod might be daunting. However, with the right techniques, it is possible to manage this anxiety and benefit from ozone pod therapy. Let’s explore a real-life scenario to understand how this can be achieved.

A Real-Life Experience with Claustrophobia and Ozone Pod Therapy

A lady came to our spa with lymphoedema, seeking ozone pod therapy (ozone sauna therapy) with a rebounder. This potent combination is known for releasing toxins from the lymphatic system, thereby helping to alleviate lymphoedema. When we placed her in the ozone capsule and closed the doors with only her head sticking out, she immediately started panicking, expressing her claustrophobia and the need to get out. Recognising this as a trigger, we realised she didn’t feel safe in her body.

Managing Claustrophobia with Breathwork and EFT Tapping

To calm her down, we initiated breathwork techniques and EFT tapping. She breathed in through her nose for four seconds, held the breath for four seconds, and then exhaled through her mouth for eight seconds. Simultaneously, she tapped on her chest using the Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) tapping method. While tapping, she repeated affirmations such as, “I am safe and secure. I’ve got this. I always land on my feet.”

Within a minute of practising this breathing pattern and affirmations, her anxiety subsided. This response indicates that a neural pathway in her subconscious mind was signalling danger whenever she was in an enclosed area, causing her to feel unsafe.

Rewiring Neural Pathways to Overcome Triggers

This experience demonstrates how trauma triggers can halt us in our tracks. By becoming aware of these neural pathways and using techniques like breathwork and EFT tapping, it is possible to change our brain chemistry, making us feel safe and secure, and thus alleviating anxiety.

Conclusion

In conclusion, claustrophobia does not have to prevent you from undergoing ozone pod therapy. By employing techniques such as controlled breathwork and EFT tapping, and possibly exploring Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), you can manage your anxiety and benefit from this therapeutic treatment. Understanding and addressing your triggers is a crucial step towards healing and achieving a balanced, peaceful life.

If you have any further questions or would like more information on managing trauma triggers, please contact us directly.

Remember, you have the power to change your brain chemistry and overcome your fears.
